Sunday Devlog Update 11th of December

Hello everyone!

So I have updates for Witchcraft, Pyroscape 4 and the bullet hell game!

First, regarding the bullet hell game, we made a lot of changes to the feel of the game. We plan to polish the feel of it as much as we can. So, with this goal in mind, we made the following changes this week:

  • Added a bunch of sounds for fire, impacts, explosions and more.
  • Twitched the camera shake when making impacts and explosions.
  • Added a slight kick back effect to the camera. When you fire, the camera will move a bit backwards giving the feel of a big gun. This will be more noticeable with bigger guns.
  • Now the machine gun doesn’t have a 100% fire accuracy. Though it is still very precise, you will have the feel that it moves slighty, in a random way, to the sides.
  • Both player weapons now have faster bullets, though the fire rate keeps being the same.

All these changes are centered in giving a better feel to the game, though they are not the only stuff we did to the game. We also added a new enemy, known for now as the “shield enemy”. This new enemy will move around the level but, instead of firing, it will place shields over the other enemies. These shields will block all your bullets including the carrier of the shield.

For Pyroscape 4, we have the first minigame working. It is a really simple one, as most of the ones you play in the saga, based on Flappy Bird. You will be two floating heads, one is Fro and the other one is the new Nick, avoiding fire, fire zombies and big pipes. Having this one done, we have the first of the six minigames this chapter will have. And yes, the saga will have the classic room escape!

Finally, Witchcraft skill selection menu has now the builds for the player working. You can pick, for now since it will need a lot of playtesting before deciding which ones will remain, any of the following builds: Sniper, Tank, Assasin, Initiator and Disabler. These builds are planned for new people who aren’t familiar with the skills so they can have a quick start by picking one of the builds.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading!
