2023 Resume + Start of 2024

Hello, everyone!

As every year, I am making a resume of the last year and giving some insights for the upcoming year. If you want, you can check my latest year’s resume here.

This time I am going to talk about Grave Digger, Whisperings of the Ouija, Summer Snow Day, Riverside Rumble, Trivia Crack VR, and other projects. So let’s begin and I hope you enjoy this ride as I did!

Grave Digger

The first released game of the year came from theĀ 7DRL Challenge 2023 game jam and it was Grave Digger.

Since I was going through a personal situation, I don’t remember much about the development of it. But I was grateful for having some team members who covered me and were able to work the days I wasn’t able to do much.

Whisperings of the Ouija

The second game jam I worked on this year was the GMTK Game Jam 2023 and we did Whisperings of the Ouija. The theme for this game jam was “Roles Reversed” and we came up with the idea of you controlling an Ouija board that would try to kill a group of teenagers in a cabin.

This was the game I had the most fun doing and playing between the two game jam games. I would have loved to see this idea develop further but I am also very happy with how it turned out. Here is a link to the post-mortem of it.

Summer Snow Day

We started the year having up to chapter 4 completed for Summer Snow Day. We are ending the year having all 9 chapters of the main plot completed and a lot of the small side plots done. Apart from that, we also have been polishing a lot the game, and is looking pretty promising!

We still have side plot chapters to do and some mechanics to work on. But we are a lot closer to finishing it than we did when we started the year. Let’s hope this year is the year that we have it almost done or even fully done and start planning for a release.

Riverside Rumble

Another game I worked on was Riverside Rumble. This was probably the one that advanced the less but is still something we have there and hopefully, we will get to finish during next year.

Although it didn’t advance too much, we were able to put some visual details to it and even FuNaNdMoRe started with one of the bosses. Let’s hope I can share more updates about this in the future!

Trivia Crack VR

During this year, I put a lot of focus on my stable job at etermax where my team worked hard to deliver the best experience for Trivia Crack VR which is currently in the app lab.

Through the year, a lot of new features were added, we got into the app lab, we are working hard to get into the official store and a lot of features were added and are planned for the future. I honestly can’t wait to see how it develops and I hope to see more users inside the game soon in the future.

Apart from this, I invite you not to just play it on the app lab but to also leave a review that helps us a lot, join our Discord server, and wishlist it on Steam!

Other projects

This year I worked on some other cool projects but sadly they didn’t come to light. One of these projects was an auto chess for Fight Daily! that I was working on with Tyler and PigLice from Newgrounds.

I believe the game has a lot of potential and, as far as I know, they are still looking for a programmer to continue the game so if you are interested or know of someone who could be interested, feel free to write to them!

Apart from this project, I also wrote an article for the company where I work. The article is How to achieve a good performance in a VR game and I am super grateful for being able to write something like this as a representative of the company in the VR area.

Plans for the next year

Making plans for the next year is something I find trouble with lately. I honestly don’t know how things are going to turn but let me say that I had a great year and I am excited for whatever is going to come. So instead of a plan, I will give you some wishes for the upcoming year.

First, I would love to have as much progress as we had this year for Summer Snow Day. I believe the pace improved a lot at some moment of the year and I hope we can get that pace again and finish the game this year. Maybe the release won’t be this year but having the game completed, will give us a clear release date plan.

Secondly, I would love to see Trivia Crack VR released in the Oculus Store. I think the game has done pretty well in the App Lab and I think it is ready to make that big jump.

And third I am looking forward to more secondary projects. I want to finish Riverside Rumble if possible, get into game jams, and maybe a new project. Though for the last one, I will wait to be closer to finishing Summer Snow Day.

So that’s it! Thank you for sharing another year with me and hope to give you more updates soon!
