Unoptimized Sprite Finder, Trivia Crack Explorer hard launch, and more!

Hello, everyone!

I am going to share a few updates regarding most of the projects I am working on. So let’s get started.

New Tool: Unoptimized Sprite Finder

One thing I made a few weeks ago was the Unoptimized Sprite Finder. This is a tool I made in my free time and shared it at my work where we decided to include it with some other tools but I still wanted to share it as a standalone in case someone finds it useful.

Unoptimized Sprite Finder is a tool that lets you search for unoptimized sprites in your project. The following features are supported:

  • Filter sprites that are not in an atlas
  • Filter sprites that are not multiple of x values (4 by default)
  • Filter sprites that do not have a exponent valid size (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 & 4096 by default)
  • Filter sprites that do not start with x path
  • Filter sprites that do not contain x path
  • Filter sprites that should contain x path

Performance improvement and more polishment for Summer Snow Day

Regarding Summer Snow Day, we finished chapter 4 and we are making some polishment as always. Chad sent us a lot of new content in order to achieve this and each time we iterate over these details I can feel the game upgrades its quality in a really feelable way.

Not only visual things had been improved, like the search bar for the special interactions the player can have. We also made a huge performance upgrade and lowered the loading times by a lot. I think I was having like 15 seconds of loading times and now it just instantly opens the game in a frame of a second. So yeah, a really nice performance improvement although there is still a lot of room for improvement!

Toying with the mechanic of Is This Still Tennis

For Is This Still Tennis, we had been playing around with the mechanic of it a lot. We added more waves of enemies and played with the different sets we can have of different projectiles. We are still looking to make the game a more fun experience and we have plans to try out a different movement for the stick control.

Also, Roberto has finished a lot of animations and enemies variants so we don’t have just the squirrel. I think they look pretty neat so can’t wait to show maybe one of them in the update.

Trivia Crack Explorer

One of the most important news for me this week was that we did the hard launch for Trivia Crack Explorer on Thursday. As you may know, I had been working at Etermax for more than two years now and this year was mostly focused on developing Trivia Crack Explorer for my current team.

It is a huge pleasure to work on this project, I got to learn a lot and I think it was a missing game for Etermax portfolio that now will give a lot of new users to the company.

Other projects

In the meantime, I am always working on something. I like to jump from one project to another. I had been adding a few updates to the escape room in Pyroscape 4 and I had been working on another game I will be sharing once it is a bit more complete.

Also, I had added a Provider in the Framework Goat, so in case you are working with Unity, or just a C# project, consider checking it out!

That will be all for now. Thank you for reading!
